Getting Here
By Road: Major highways that access the county are I-70, I-270, US 15, US 40, US 40A, and US 340. Frederick County's highway network makes the county easily accessible by automobile and motor coach. Greyhound Bus has a terminal in downtown Frederick.
From New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore
Route I-70 West from Baltimore-Annapolis to Frederick. Take Exit 54 (MD Rt. 355 - Market Street). Make a left on Market Street. Go through 4 lights, stay in right lane. Visitor Information signs will direct you to turn right onto Church Street, 5th light. One-half block on the left, just past the parking deck, is the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church Street.
From Pittsburgh and Western Maryland
Route I-70 East from Hagerstown-Cumberland-Oakland to Frederick. Take Exit 54 (MD Rt. 355 - Market Street). Make a right on Market Street. Go through 5 lights, stay in right lane. Visitor Information signs will direct you to turn right onto Church Street. One-half block on the left, just past the parking deck, is the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church Street, 6th light.
From Washington, DC and points south
Route I-270 North from Washington, D.C. to Frederick. Take Exit 31A (MD Rt. 85 - Buckeystown Pike). Make a left on to Rt. 355. Go through 5 lights, stay in right lane. Visitor Information signs will direct you to turn right onto Church Street, 6th light. One-half block on the left, just past the parking deck, is the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church Street. on the left.
By Air: Reagan National, Dulles, and Baltimore/Washington International Airports are less than an hour's drive away. The Frederick Municipal Airport also serves general aviation. All of these airports are great, but you might get the best deal out of BWI and Dulles.
